Help for overeating is a growing need in our culture today. We are constantly bombarded with media messages about eating. Eating more, eating less, eating right, eating healthy, eating to lose weight, eating to prevent cancer, eating, eating, eating. Now on top of that add in all the stress in our society about being successful, being beautiful, being a good spouse, being a good parent being a good student, being a good employee and then add in a splash of financial pressure and what you have now is a potential over eater.

I should know because I am just now climbing out of that hole. I had faced down drugs, alcohol and cigarettes and saw them for what they were…a means of coping with my “problems”. Once I was free of these, overeating starting easing in while I was unaware because it was socially “acceptable”. But the truth was I had just found a more socially acceptable method of “coping “. Problem is that I had coped my way up to almost 300 pounds.

At the height of my overeating problem I would eat until I was just plain miserable. But 45 minutes later I would be in the kitchen looking for something else to eat even though my mind is screaming at me…”What are you doing?…You’re not even hungry.” I was well on my way to a massive heart attack when I started looking for help for overeating.

I am not quite sure how I arrived at that site that I stumbled on but it is was there that I first heard of a method for weight loss that uses 24 hour short term fasting…and I laughed out loud, literally. The thing that intrigued me though was this was so completely different than everything else I was hearing about weight loss and nutrition.

This book has given me the help for overeating that I was looking for and it has changed my life radically. I have dropped about 35 pounds in six months without dieting. What I thought would be difficult, if not just down right useless, was the very thing that set me free. By choosing not to eat for short 24 hour periods I have now obtained so much experience and control in this area of my life. This may sound weird, but for me, it is easier to choose to “not eat” than it is for me to choose to “eat right”…does that make sense?

“Hunger” was the giant that kept me from ever winning this fight before. But what I found out was that the “hunger giant” was only a giant in my mind. When I actually stepped out on the field with him…he was mostly talk. I started fasting breakfast a couple days a week to get a little experience. Then I started fasting breakfast and lunch on Mondays and Thursdays. I have fasted longer but for weight loss purposes it is not necessary. These longer fasts were just for my personal experience..sort of my way of giving the giant “the finger” so to speak.

If you are in need of help for overeating then you may want to read my personal review of the book that has set me free from obsessing about food day in and day out. You can read about my experience by clicking here.

Overcoming food addiction, at first thought, can seem so daunting to those of us who know this monster intimately. It feels as though you are nothing more than a puppet on a string when your addiction to food crashes in on your life on a daily basis. How many times have we decided that today we are going to take charge and regain the control over our lives that we desire only to be defeated at the first emotional hump or 10 minutes into the first hunger pain?

I am very familiar with this powerful foe of food addiction. I was well on my way to 300 pounds before I began to get a hold of this beast. Although I am not at the weight that I desire to be yet, I have dropped around 35 pounds since I stepped into the ring with this opponent. I have gone from about 285 pounds “officially” (I know I have weighed a little more than this at times but I was too ashamed to want to know) down to 250 pounds in about 6 months “without dieting”.

I remember not being able to help myself from devouring sacks of potato chips, bags of cookies and whole cakes and pies. Today I have something that I cherish and that is “control”. This is not to say that I don’t still have “run ins” with the enemy but now I have understanding and wisdom in how to overcome the “lies” of food addictions.

The one thing that made the difference in overcoming food addiction was facing the monster head on. “Hunger” was the big obstacle for me. I say “hunger” because it was a physical hunger but also an emotional hunger. I am still not sure what it was all about I just know that by facing it down, it is being fixed. This may explain it better…if you were driving down the road and had a flat tire, would you walk three miles back the way you came to try to find out what made your tire go flat? Or would you just want the tire fixed so you could go on your way?

The method that helped fix my tire was from a book I stumbled on while surfing the net one day that introduced the method of 24 hour short term fasting as a safe and healthy way for weight loss…yes, I laughed out loud when I first read that also. Overcoming food addiction was not my primary goal here, I just wanted to lose weight before I had a massive coronary.

I think the big thing that helped me with this technique was that it was actually easier for me to “not eat” than it was to eat right or eat healthy. By doing this I eventually became experienced with “hunger” and you know what I came to see…”He ain’t so tough”. I started out by “fasting” lunch a couple times a week. Then I began “fasting” breakfast and lunch on Mondays and Thursdays. Now I control and decide when to eat and how much. I don’t like feeling stuffed anymore but I do eat until I am full.

This was a gradual process. Overcoming food addiction is not going to happen overnight and it is not going to come from a magic pill. Overcoming food addiction is very possible if you take it one baby step at a time.

I have written a very personal review of the book that has helped me see the truth about weight loss and food obsession. You can read about my experience by clicking here now.

When it comes to dieting, so many people have trouble sticking it out for a few weeks, let alone for years or the rest of their life. The truth of the matter is that dieting can be extremely restrictive and unrealistic so continuing it for many years can result in depression and probably throwin’ in the towel.

The question that many people ask themselves is ‘can you really lose weight without dieting?’

The answer to that lies in what your definition of dieting is, how much other effort are you willing to put in (i.e. exercise, good nutrition, a sprinkle of self discipline) and of course, your current weight and body type.

Some people will be able to drop the pounds just by undertaking ridiculous amounts of exercise whilst keeping up their current food intake. But is this something that is sustainable for the long term? Unless you absolutely love exercise and working out on a daily basis (I am talking about HARD work outs), then this strategy will not work for you very well. In fact it probably applies to less than half a percent of the population.

Just the mention of that ugly four letter word diet is what makes people search for a way to lose weight without dieting. Ideas of cutting out all the foods you enjoy, having to write down and track every crumb that enters your mouth and worst of all: feeling guilty if you stray from the diet plan once or twice. Is that a good way to live your life? I think not!

So what is the alternative?

One of the best kept secrets that I have recently discovered is a “diet” that is so easy to maintain that you will kick yourself for not trying it earlier. It involves short term intermittent fasting and it is totally safe and will bring you so much more success than a bland low calorie diet. It also won’t leave you feeling lost and lonely when it comes to choosing your foods.

After all, what is the point of trying to lose weight with a diet that takes all of the fun out of eating? Eating should be flexible and enjoyable most of the time and therefore avoiding overly restrictive diets can be exceedingly better for not only your body, but your mind as well.

The short term intermittent fasting technique will give you the results you desire, without turning you into a paranoid, food obsessed dieter.

If you are someone that is in search of a way to lose weight without dieting then I would highly recommend investigating intermittent fasting as a way to reach your goals without…you know…dieting, ugh.

Never, ever, ever quit,

David

In your efforts to lose those extra pounds that have somehow crept up on you, don’t make the mistake thinking that all weight loss is equal. There are different types of weight you can lose such as water weight, loss of muscle and fat loss. The first two types of weight loss can have a negative impact on your health so you will want to focus your efforts on losing the body fat.

Body fat loss can be achieved by following the core principals of weight loss and they are as follows:

- Consuming less calories than is required to maintain your current weight
- Burning off calories through daily activities and exercise
- Maintaining a healthy diet that is nutrient rich and does not leave you feeling hungry.

Ok, well the first 2 are the core principals of weight loss and I threw the last one in as a dose of reality. You simply WILL NOT be able to lose weight (at least not keep it off) without keeping point number 3 above in mind. I’m sure you have tried restrictive diets in the past but failed to continue them due to the fact that they leave you feeling unsatisfied, weak, tired and even ill. There is little point in losing weight if your health is going to suffer.

Body Fat Loss the Safe and Easy Way

If you have not heard about short term intermittent fasting, then be prepared to hear alot more about it. Why? It is truly a revolutionary weight loss program that makes you wonder why it wasn’t explored and utilized sooner. Discovering the amazing benefits of intermittent fasting for weight loss is the result of years of studying, testing and experimentation and all of this leads to a weight loss plan that actually works WITHOUT forcing you to turn into a crazy calorie counting obsessive maniac.

The best way to long term body fat loss is by combining 24 hour intermittent fasting periods with resistance training (weights training). This foolproof combination will result in fat loss and increased strength, as well as increased confidence in yourself and a motivation to continue.

When you are fasting during this program (and it’s not as difficult as you might think), your resistance training will take on a new level of fat burning and you will reap considerable health benefits. Bodybuilders and athletes have applied and succeeded with this program so it can work for all body types and goals; whether you need to lose a considerable amount of weight or just want to trim some body fat for athletic reasons.

Short term intermittent fasting is the way of the future for healthy, safe weight loss and is simply the very best method that I have ever used to achieve permanent body fat loss.

All the best to ya,

The best free weight loss program is the one that works for you. That is easy enough to determine, but getting there often leads to a person trying so many different programs, diets and plans that they become disenchanted and lose all hope of ever achieving long term weight loss.

Many weight loss programs will simply tell you to cut your calories on a daily basis. While this sounds easy in theory, people simply struggle to keep up with the program and eventually fall back into old habits. Why? Because the diet is unsustainable and unsatisfying. People generally don’t enjoy not being able to eat when and how they want and being restricted only makes you want it more.

The goal then is to find a free weight loss program that does not zap your motivation, but rather encourages you to eat well with a long term view rather than just on a day to day basis. That means if you eat something undesirable on one day, it doesn’t matter because overall it will not have a major impact upon your weight loss progress. This is a much more realistic and sustainable approach that you are likely to stick with in the long run.

Short term intermittent fasting:

This is a relatively new approach that not many people are yet aware of, but one that I have had some pretty good success with and am currently still using. I can see myself using intermittent fasting for a long time as it is totally sustainable.

It involves fasting for a 24 hour period one to two times each week in order to control your calorie intake, but without counting calories or using a points system. I’ve even heard of professional sports people who use this program so it certainly works and is totally safe. With no special foods or miracle fat burning supplements to buy this is the ultimate free weight loss program around.

To avoid becoming disenchanted with your weight loss goals I can highly recommend the short term intermittent fasting program. Not only does it produce very fast results (great for motivation) but it is also easy to maintain, does not greatly impact upon your lifestyle and overall makes you feel incredibly confident that it is something that you can maintain for the long term.

All the best to ya,

Have you heard of the 1200 calorie diet? It is a very popular diet, as you will find if you conduct a simple internet search. But what is this diet all about and is it hard to maintain? More importantly, is it healthy and safe, and does it work?

Have you heard of the 1200 calorie diet? It is a very popular diet, as you will find if you conduct a simple internet search. But what is this diet all about and is it hard to maintain? More importantly, is it healthy and safe, and does it work?

Firstly let me start by saying that eating 1200 calories per day is not for everyone. Some people will require more than that so it depends upon your body type. But 1200 was the number settled upon as it is deemed to be the ‘nutritionally adequate’ amount of daily calories required by most people. It is also recommended as the baseline number of calories that is acceptable for safe weight loss. But it can be exceedingly difficult to track and stick to this number of calories every single day and can leave little room for diet variations.

If you eat too few calories, you can become somewhat weak and lethargic and we know this is not a fun place to be. That is why “starvation” diets don’t work. However the 1200 calorie diet can be nutritious and also produce a calorie deficit that is critical for weight loss. Many diet programs will use the number 1200 as a basis for their daily meal plans.

What factors influence your daily required calories?
- age
- gender
- activity level
- current weight
- health status/medical conditions
- metabolic rate

Benefits of the 1200 calorie diet:
The benefits include the fact that you are more likely to consume only healthy foods to maintain the calorie requirements. This helps you avoid over eating and eating junk food.

It is very easy to consume 1200 calories per day quickly and most people find themself going over the threshold.

The Twist:

There is another easier way that may help you to stick to a 1200 calorie diet and that is by calculating your calories over a week instead of per day. Then apply the healthy technique of incorporating two short term 24 hour intermittent fasting periods in your week. By doing this you not only get the benefits of a calorie deficit at the end of your week but on the Five days of the week that you will be eating you will actually be able to eat more…

Let me explain the math. 1200 calories per day x seven days = 8400 calories a week. But with the added twist of two 24 hour short term fasts in your week it will look something like this: At 3 meals a day you are allowed 400 calories per meal, right? So if you fast one day from say, 5pm after supper and eat again at 5pm supper the next day then you fasted through two meals, ok.

That means 2 meals at 400 calries comes up to 800 calories total that you didn’t consume during your 24 hour fast. If you do this, say on Monday and Thursday the total number of calories that you would not have consumed will total out at 1600 calories.

In a week’s time at three meals a day that comes out to 21 meals a week at 400 calories a meal. If you fast twice a week you will cut out 4 meals in a weeks time which is 1600 calories. Take those 1600 calories and divide them into the 17 meals that are left and you come out around 94 calories you can add to each of the 17 meals which comes out to 494 calories a meal…not to0 bad. Or you can eat a fourth meal per day of 282 calories…that is an extra turkey sandwich a day on the days that you are eating. That could make the difference between victory or defeat if you decide to take on the 1200 calorie diet.

Short term intermittent fasting has been helping me drop pounds consistently without having to take a ride on the 1200 calorie diet. If you would like to check out something that has been a godsend to me in the area of weight loss then click here now.

All the best to ya,

Is there such a thing as easy ways to lose weight? The answer to that is both yes and no.

Yes – there are easy ways to lose weight IF you stick with the program and can maintain it over a long period of time (months to years depending on your situation)

No – without the right mindset and a realistic weight loss plan and goal you will likely fail at any program that you attempt (We have t-shirts…).

Some of the fad diets and programs that you may have heard about in the past few years include:

Abs Diet
Acai Berry Diet
Apple Cider Vinegar Diet
Banana Diet
Bread for Life Diet
Cabbage Soup Diet (pure misery…)
Cholesterol Lowering Diet
Dr Amanda’s Don’t Go Hungry Diet
Food Doctor Diet
Gotti Diet
Hilton Head Metabolism Diet
Hot Latin Diet
Mayo Clinic Diet
Raw Food Diet
Zone Diet

The above are just a few of the fad diets talked about recently. Some may work, most don’t. If they do work it is a short term solution that is not sustainable and leads to rapid weight gain once again.

To be completely real here, it would probably more correct to say that losing weight is fairly simple in concept but far from easy when it comes to carrying it out. We have been cultured in our society to look for the easy way of doing things and so we have also “been sold” on easy ways to lose weight.

There is, however, a promising and simple technique that has been developed by someone after many years of study and testing. It is a program that involves short, 24 hour intermittent fasting periods (yeah, I know…I laughed too when I first heard of it) and my own results have been pretty cool so far, not to mention the positive testimonials from so many other people who had all but given up on long term weight loss thanks to the unsustainable fad diets tried in the past.

Undertaking 24 hour intermittent fasting has many surprising and healthy benefits including:

- It decreases your blood insulin (fat storing hormone) levels. This is a major health benefit.
- Your glucagon (fat burning hormone) levels increase: that means your body relies more on your fat as a source of fuel.
- Does not slow down your metabolic rate, yeah, you heard me right.
- An increase in blood flow
- Increases growth hormone levels; a major benefit
- Increases the fat burning hormones noradrenaline
- Cortisol does not increase so you know your muscles are not being broken down

Intermittent fasting is an excellent way to lose weight and if you are in search of “easy ways to lose weight“, then this may be something you want to investigate further if you can handle the simple truth about weight loss.

All the best to ya,

When it comes to weight loss advice you can be quickly overwhelmed with information, so much so that your head is probably spinning with ideas, opportunities, plans and strategies. But does losing weight have to be so difficult and so technical?

These diets that almost require a mathematics degree to calculate calories are highly restrictive and can turn a normal person into a numbers obsessed freak. Is that the sort of life you want? Constantly looking on food packaging packets and noting down calories, then becoming depressed if you’ve eaten one too many? To me, that is a recipe for disaster!

Dieting and weight loss should be about positivity and confidence, not statistics.

Sporadic fasting is quickly shining through as one of the most effective weight loss methods around. While this power house of weight loss advice has not yet hit the mainstream, I can see this being big enough to warrant a slot on Oprah one day.

So what is this secret strategy that not many know about? You will be surprised at just how simple and ‘non-technical’ it is.

At its most basic level, it involves undertaking short 24 hour fasting periods on a weekly basis, with the aim of alleviating the constant nagging hunger associated with “rabbit food” and trying to “eat like a bird”….uuugh.

For example, a person on this diet can do 2 x 24 hour fasting periods per week. This isolates the hunger issue to only two days of the week. So rather than feeling hungry all the time (or more to the point, thinking you are feeling hungry), you can get on with your life as normal.

I personally have experienced excellent results with this plan in just a few short weeks and have found it to be easy to sustain unlike other diets which you want to give up after a few days or weeks. I can see this being something that I will be able to maintain for a long time to come.

There is more to learn about this method but I have covered the basics in this article.

When you are researching weight loss advice be sure that what is said will not ultimately affect your health in a negative way or cause you to become obsessive-compulsive over your weight loss. The intermittent fasting weight loss plan will not cause these problems and best of all, it’s easy to follow and maintain.

All the best to you,
